Terms & Conditions

Please read carefully.

 

To ensure the wellbeing and safety of both our client’s dogs and our team, we ask that all clients read and accept these Terms & Conditions as a requirement of engaging our services.

 

Wagtailwalkers is a professional dog walking and pet care service established in 2010.

 

We aim to provide a fun and safe environment for all pets in our care by having good practices and policies in place, while ensuring the safety of our team.

 

For the purposes of these Terms & Conditions, the Service Provider is us, ‘Wagtailwalkers’, and ‘you’, the client, owner, pet owner and customer is you, the person contracting our services for one or more pets.

 

The Service Provider agrees that:

 

  1. The Service Provider will pick-up, walk and/or attend the client’s pet(s) on the agreed day(s) and frequency.

  2. If for any reason a walk cannot be undertaken, due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances, the service provider will still visit and provide the dog with a toilet break and interaction/attention for the duration of the agreed walk time.

  3. When transporting your pets, all pets will be secured and restrained using appropriate pet safe seatbelts or harnesses.

  4. Unless otherwise agreed with the client, all dogs will be walked on a lead or harness. These may be supplied by the client or the Service Provider.

  5. You, the client, acknowledges that injuries may occur during our services and agrees that Wagtailwalkers will not be held liable for any injury or illness and expressly waives any and all claims against Wagtailwalkers, or its employees for any loss, injury or illness to their dog(s) or their property while in the care of Wagtailwalkers or its contractors.

  6. Any dogs that the client wishes to be exercised off lead will always be taken to a designated off-leash enclosure to ensure safety. The Service Provider will not be held responsible for any injury sustained whilst inside the off-leash enclosure.

  7. All walks will be one on one (or 2 dogs from the same household) unless the client agrees that their dog can be walked, on occasion, in a group of no more than 4 dogs at a time for fun and socialisation. Suitable matches will be at the Service Providers discretion however the Service Provider will not be held responsible for injuries sustained by any dog/s in their care.

  8. The client agrees to disclose to the Service Provider any known behavioural/aggression problems that their dog has with other animals, toys, food or humans. The client is solely responsible for any harm or injury caused by their pet while in the care of Wagtailwalkers.

  9. The Service Provider agrees to alert the client at the earliest opportunity in the event of illness or injury to the dog and the Service Provider agrees to transport the dog as soon as possible to the client’s vet (named in the Pet Details document), or the closest available vet, if requested to do so by the client.

  10. The Service Provider may use their discretion to stop/suspend the service at any time that a dog poses a danger to the safety or health of itself, other pets or other people.

  11. In the event of any injury to the dog caused by a dog not in the care of the Service Provider, the Service Provider wherever possible will gather appropriate data and photographic evidence to support a future claim made by the client against the offending party.

  12. Safe entry to the property where the dog is to be picked up from, will be agreed with the client and Service Provider in advance. Our client held keys are securely kept and are identified only by a number system not an address. Most regular clients prefer to take advantage of our key storage service. The keys remain the property of the client at all times and will be returned when our services are no longer required.

  13. The Service Provider will secure the property on collection of the dog and after returning the dog. Any problems discovered with security at the property will be notified to the client immediately.

  14. The Service Provider accepts any canine bodily fluids deposited in the car during the duration of travel is at their own risk and no compensation will be sought from the client. Any cosmetic damage that may occur with the transporting of dogs is also accepted by the Service Provider, this may be minor scratches to paint or upholstery.

  15. This Service Agreement extends to and includes our Holiday Feed and Walk Service.

 

The Client agrees that:

 

  1. All dogs accepted must be in good general health. Veterinarian information and proof of all required vaccinations must be provided to the Service Provider during the initial meet & greet, and immediately upon any changes.

  2. Their dog(s) must be on a flea and tick prevention program whilst in our care. Under no circumstances will the Service Provider, or its contractors, be held responsible for Paralysis Tick, Canine Influenza, Injury, Death, Loss or Damages of any kind whatsoever that may occur to any animal while in the care of Wagtailwalkers.

  3.  They will provide their dog with a collar and some form of identification on it.

  4. The dog being walked is not aggressive towards people. If the dog has a history of aggression towards other dogs, this information must be conveyed at the initial client meeting and, if necessary, the client agrees that a muzzle will be worn by the dog when out in public.

  5. The Service Provider will always assess the surroundings and avoid taking the dogs into situations where other dogs may show aggression. In the unfortunate circumstance of another dog approaching the clients’ dog and showing aggression the client agrees that the Service Provider will not be held responsible for any injury that was unavoidable whilst in the Service Providers’ care, providing there was no negligence on the Service Providers’ behalf.

  6. Any injury to a contractor of the Service Provider or a member of the public caused by the clients’ dog, and where the individual concerned has been proven not to have caused or instigated the injury, full medical costs will be reimbursed by the client.

  7. Any permanent cancellation by the client of a regular scheduled walk, requires at least two weeks’ notice to terminate this agreement.

  8. Any permanent illnesses or conditions must be declared to the Service Provider so that they can take the appropriate steps to ensure the dog is cared for and to ensure that other dogs walked by the Service Provider are not at risk from infection.

  9. To provide the name and address of their vet and give permission to the Service Provider to act in the best interests of their pet in a medical emergency if the client is un-contactable.

Cancellation Policy:

We require 24 hours notice to cancel a scheduled walk. Any walks cancelled after this time will be invoiced at the full rate. There is no charge for walks cancelled prior to this. If we are unable to gain access to the dog on the day, the walk will still be invoiced at the full rate. 

 

Emergency Veterinarian Services:

Should any dog become ill or injured whilst in our care, we reserve the right to administer necessary aid, and, if necessary, transport the pet to a vet. Any expenses incurred are the responsibility of the client. Wagtailwalkers will attempt to contact the pets’ own vet but reserves the right to transport the pet to another vet if necessary. The client agrees to pay any invoiced amount within 7 days of the invoice being issued by the vet service provider. 

 

Medication:

If your dog requires oral or topical medication, the Service Provider must be fully informed and equipped to cater to your dog's medical needs.

It is the client’s responsibility to ensure a sufficient amount of medication is supplied to Wagtailwalkers for the duration of the period the medication is required whilst your pet is in our care.

  

Property damage:

The Service Provider is not responsible for any damage to the property of the client or others unless such damage is caused by the negligent act of the Service Provider or our contractors.

Agreement with these Terms & Conditions:

The Service Provider presumes that all clients state that they have read this agreement in its entirety and fully understands and accepts its terms and conditions. These Terms & Conditions are subject to change, it is the clients’ responsibility to check for updates and amendments.

Engaging our services assumes that you have read and accept these terms and conditions in their entirety.
